Why our ice rod handle is angled

Every other ice rod has a straight handle. Ours is angled to match the neutral position of your wrist and forearm.

How the angled handle works

Hold a straight handle level and your wrist has to bend to do it. Neptune moves that bend into the handle, so your wrist stays straight and in line with your forearm.

Straight handle

Your wrist bends up to keep the rod level. Hold that all day and your wrist and forearm feel it.

Neptune angled handle

Your wrist stays straight, in line with your forearm. The handle does the bending for you.

Less fatigue

A neutral wrist means less strain on your wrist and forearm over a long day of jigging.

More power on the hookset

Your arm and the rod work in one line, so more of your motion goes into setting the hook.

Better control on the retrieve

A steadier grip makes it easier to keep the rod tip where you want it as the fish comes up.
